Cosmetic Surgery for Men
Cosmetic surgery for men is becoming increasingly popular. While liposuction, tummy tucks, blepharoplasty, face lifts are common in men, newer procedures are gaining ground.
Liposculpture  of the abdomen, gluteal region, arms and  thighs help gives men  a chiseled appearance. Meanwhile implants to the chin, face, chest, abdomen, arms, thighs, buttock and thighs are  available when there is not enough fat to transfer.

Face Lifts for Men are Esthetically Different than for Women

Facial procedures such as face  lifts and blepharoplasties in men are more subtle (less tight) than  in women, so as to avoid a feminizing look.

Hair Restoration of Scalp, Eyebrows, Eyelids

Hair restoration of the scalp, eyebrows and eyelids is the most common procedure of men, followed by hair removal.

Hair is harvested from the back of the head, which is highly resistant to allopecia (hair loss), and transferred to the scalp, eyebrows or eyelids.

Gynecomastia (Breast Reduction Surgery) For Men

Most men get some gynecomastia (fat accumulation around the breast) with middle age, as their activity level decreases. Gynecomastia surgery has three options:

1) Mild gynecomastia may be treated with liposuction only. This is a good option if the amount of excess skin is not excessive.  Liposuction of male breasts costs $2,500, but is often covered by insurance.

2)Moderate or severe gynecomastia needs lkiposuction of the fat and excision of extra skin (partial mastectomy). The cost for this is $6,000, but is often covered by insurance. With matectomy, there will be a scar around the nipple.

3)An alternative to liposuction and mastectomy for moderate-severe gynecomastia is liposuction and pectoaralis implants. The implants make the pectoralis muscles look bigger (the larger the implant, the larger the "cut" look). Implants are a much less disfiguring way of filling-in extra skin, because they are inserted via the armpit (not the nipple). The abscence of a nipple incision (seen with partial mastectomy) is an advantage of implants. Liposuction and pectoralis implantation cost $8,500 less whatever the insurance company pays for liposuction of the breasts.
