Fat Melting/Absorbtion! Carbon dioxide gas (CO2) injections are an alternative to liposuction for some patients. About 3 cc (less than a teaspoon) of CO2 gas is injected at each fatty site, once per week for 6-8 weeks. Each treatment session lasts about 10 minutes, and is performed in the office while the patient is wide awake. The patient does not need sedatives and can drive to and from our office by themselves. CO2 gas eventually disolves the underlying fat and tightens the skin. This procedure is suitable for small areas of fat, cellulite, keloid scars and strech marks.
